Today has been a pretty exhausting day at work, but it was so rewarding that I don’t care. My job helps me make a difference to people’s lives, and that is all I ever want to do; make a difference.
Put your hand up if you think you’ve impacted somebody else’s life, throughout your lifetime?
Truth is, probably all of you have.
Put your hand up if you’ve ever smiled at a stranger in the street for no reason?
You don’t know them, or their circumstances. You don’t know how their day has gone, how content they are in life, or if they have many family and friends around them.
Truth is, you have probably brightened many peoples’ days.
When you’re young your parents tell you not to speak to strangers, but as you grow up, communication with them somehow becomes more acceptable. You become more aware of the world and of the dangers in your life. Gradually you also become more aware of the fact you don’t need a reason to show emotion.
Smiling at somebody in the street or in a shop is a gesture that silently speaks a million words.
Make a difference. Smile at the next person you see.
I'm a teenage girl (yes, for another month I can just about call myself that!) and guys are a part of my life, but other than people from my past they are something I guess I haven't blogged much about because 1; it's another personal chamber I'm opening, and 2; so far this blog has been about my change. Today will be different. I think it's about time that I totally open up my present, rather than my past. So here goes, on 26th March 2012, this is how my life stands.
I don't mean to sound like a big-head here, but after having several different guys try to win me over, I have realised why it takes me time at the beginning, to be drawn in. For a long time now I've put a lot of focus on myself as a person simply due to the past, and in previous relationships I admit I have not been at peace with myself or my life. I know I've said it before and it's probably such a cliche, but I think if I was any happier right now, life would just seem surreal. Sometimes I do wonder how I am so happy when things around me are so rubbish, but the trick is to not let it get you down. I will never know how I've managed to master that one, but it doesn't even matter, not one tiny bit.
When I was little, I used to think that different parts of life were like categories and they shouldn't mix, but now I know they can relate to one another. The past few times I've shared my ambitions with a guy, they've either wanted to block it out, or try to change my mind. You see, fulfilling all my goals would entail moving across the pacific, and I have such great determination to do so, that I guess I made them panic or something. I'm thankful for that though 'cause if anybody ever wants to try to stop someone from fulfilling their dreams, I think it's safe to say that they are selfish, but also that they don't really have your best interests at heart at all. (Okay, apology is needed here! I said at the beginning I would talk about the present rather than the past, but I'm sorry, I just cannot stop myself comparing!) The last person I shared those plans with is still in my life, and it pleases me to say that all I received was admiration. It pleases me even more, to share with you guys that I am this close || to having my dream job.
The sun is shining, I'm smiling, and life is moving fast.
Never watch your life pass you by, instead, stand up and move forward with it.
I just came across this picture, and wanted to share it with you guys before I sleep because it could not be truer.
Throughout my life I’ve had good and bad times just like all of you, but in all of those ‘near-perfect’ times, the scale of my happiness did not even compare to my happiness now. In that ‘now’ state, there are many things going on in my life that people would call ‘problems’, but I smile whilst facing them rather than letting them tear me up. That’s what I’d call true happiness.
Now, go dream of smiley people dancing in the rain...

When I first decided to start writing this blog, I thought it’d be easy. I knew the things I wanted to be writing, knew the people I wanted to see it, and I knew what I wanted it to achieve for myself. As more and more people have been introduced to the things I write however, it’s become more difficult. I guess I was just like everyone else in my life, not understanding how much it actually meant to me.
A few days ago it hit me, that despite the fact a lot of you guys don’t know who I am, there’s also a lot of you who do. The more I share on here, the more chance there is that my loved ones who know nothing, will begin to discover who I really am. Don’t get me wrong, I want them to know, but I don’t want them to see the pain they had no idea I went through, and the things they had no idea I felt. Maybe one day I will gain the courage to tell them, or even send them a link so they can see my heart and soul spread bare onto a screen. For now, I’m pleased I can share it with you. Yes, you right there.
Moving on to a more positive note, I have been feeling amazing. January is a tough month for me with all the dates and memories it holds, but I am so pleased to be able to say that I have felt like I have spent the past week or so on top of the world. I am so content with myself, with my mind, with my actions, and with the great big smile on my face. Have you ever wondered what people think about you when you sit in a crowded room with the cheesiest grin ever? Me too, in the past. I don’t care now. I am happy, end of.
It’s not a crime to take a trip and stumble due to your mistakes. It’s a crime to not pick yourself up after you fall.
One day I will tell you more of my secrets. Until then, focus on yourself, and smile.
Sorry I haven’t written for a few days, I’ve been taking time out. I don’t mean that in a bad way, or that I’m feeling bad, but I needed some time to get inspired.
I have written a few things that I’ll upload, but I haven’t yet had enough time to make sure they have the right meaning, as they were just word-vomit rambles.
Anyway. I’m on Adele high at the minute, and just wanted to share the Adele love...
'Cause when hard work don't pay off
And I'm tired there ain't no room in my bed
As far as I'm concerned
So wipe that dirty smile off
We won't be making up
I've cried my heart out
And now I've had enough of love’
Today’s a good day. A really good day.
If yours isn’t the same, think about yourself for a while. Think about what you need, realistically, to get you to a happy place. Today, or any day. Get yourself there.
We all make mistakes, every single one of us, even the best of us. We are only human, mistakes and regrets are inevitable. Sure, we all say that we should have no regrets, but then we just go and make more. Some people would call that stupidity, but I’d just call it living. I mean, how do we live without things to learn from? How do we fulfil our lives if they never change, and we never change?
Today, I made a mistake. I tried to involve somebody in a situation that I shouldn’t have. Nobody else can solve our problems and they can’t learn from our mistakes, all they can do is support us. We are the only ones who should control ourselves and our lives, so that we are true to ourselves. Often, we try to back out of something we have created, because we lose our courage. We may not be able to change our past or the reality surrounding us right now, but we all have the ability and strength inside to shape our future.
In life, all that people may ever ask of us is our best, and that is all that we will ever be able to give them. Even if we give more, all it means is that our best has improved and is better than what we thought. Do you give your best, in your life? How many regrets do you have, that you won’t let yourself move on from? I know it’s easier said than done, but giving up on something doesn’t mean that you’re too weak to hold on to it, it means you’re finally strong enough to let it go because you know it’s best for you. I don’t want you to hurt from your mistakes, I want you to be happy. Let go of your pain, free yourself, and smile.
Somebody once told me that I will only ever have one chance at this, and I’m not at a dress rehearsal like the shows I do. He was talking about life. I never really thought about comparing life to anything until that point, but his words could not have been truer. So I’m going to pass on his wisdom to you. I told a lot of people over the holiday period to make the most of every moment they are blessed with, but I’m gonna extend that now.
If you’re reading this, I want you smile from the bottom of your heart, and make the most of every moment that you are presented with for the rest of your life. It’s true that you never know what life may bring, but that stands for the positives, too. Nothing in life is ever just bad, if we open our eyes and let ourselves see the good, too.
You only get one chance, one life. This isn’t a dress rehearsal, or a first draft, or a warm up match. This is real. You’re alive. You have your life. Live it for noone but yourself, and love it, for noone but yourself.
Everything happens for a reason. We are all stronger than we will ever realise, and none of us can predict so much as the next 5 minutes, let alone the rest of our lives.
